The First Few Weeks of School

  • School Supplies:
    Students  need to bring pencils, pens, and paper for the first day of school.  Individual teachers will provide students with a list of specific supplies for their courses.  Generally, supplies include:  pens, pencils, loose leaf paper, binders, dividers and a flash stick.
  • School Lockers:
    Lockers will have school locks on them when school resumes.  The fee for locker usage for 2011-2012 is $5.00 and is included in the mandatory fees.  Lockers will be issued upon mandatory fee payment ONLY – No EXCEPTIONS.  Students are expected to remain with the same locker throughout the year and are expected to keep it clean and in good order.Students should not store their stuff in other students’ lockers.  Combinations will NOTbe given out for other students lockers.  At the end of the year, the student is expected to empty their locker, return their textbook and lock their locker.School Board Policy allows the Principal of a school the right to search a locker if there is reasonable and just grounds.

    Students are encouraged to bring their own locks from home on a block by block basis for their physical education classes.  (We strongly recommend students lock up valuables during PE classes to avoid theft.  The PE lockers with locks are available through the PE department.)

  • Course Schedules:
    Students will be given a copy of the 2011-2012 schedules on the first day of school on August 31, 2011.  Changes to student schedules will be considered for core courses conflicts only.  Core courses include:  Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, English.  Miss Beaulieu and Mrs. Martin will be at the school August 24, 25 and 26 between the hours of 8:45 until 11:45 am and 12:15 until 3:15 pm to receive appointments regarding schedules. To schedule an appointment please contact the main office after August 18, 2011.
  • Outstanding Student Textbooks:
    For students returning to St. Joe’s any outstanding textbook must be returned to the library PRIOR to the issue of textbooks for the 2011-2012 school year.  Students who do not return texts must cover the cost of replacement.
  • Fees:
    Mandatory and course user fees for complimentary courses may be found under the Fee Schedule tab.  The fee schedule is due and payable prior to Friday, September 23, 2011 at the school office.  A user fee is charged for students in certain complementary courses to purchase consumable items.Fees may be paid with credit card, debit card or by cheque.  Please make all cheques payable to:  St. Joseph Catholic High School.
