Fitness Center: Information

The Facility is not open to students until we hire staff.

Philosophy:  Students = First Priority

• The space was created for students; CTS & PE classes, teams, etc
• Money came from 2 places;
  • Construction costs paid for by the district
  • Equipment paid for by the Government for the creation of the new health and wellness CTS credits being offered (Athletic Science at St. Joes)

Usage/Access

•  For the first few months, until use is evaluated, there will be a designated student time (with no staff) 3:30-8pm
• Washroom/shower facilities will be available for both staff and students at this point – if it is an issue it will be revisited at a later time.

Liability

•  Staff and students must sign the 141 A – Fitness Facility Liability Form for Students and Athletes
• Extra copies can be found on the district website under “forms” or by clicking on the attachment linked to this page
• EVERYONE using the facility MUST sign a waiver.

Fees

•  Student Fees – Must be paid PRIOR to access
• $100/year
• $60/semester

Students and Athletes: 

• Student will come to the office and request  a fitness center membership (yearly, monthly etc,)
• Secretaries will enter the fee and collect the fee from the student.
• The student will take the paid receipt to the fitness center and the employee will put them on the list and create an ID card for them.
• ID Cards will be specific colours for monthly, semestered, and yearly
